CSa & market distribution associate!

We are seeking a CSA & Farmers Market Distribution Associate. We are hopeful to cross train all of our new employees to be able to work in the farm stand in addition to CSA and markets.

● Around 30 hours per week

● Tuesday & Wednesday availability for off-site CSA pick ups (mid-day)

● Sunday availability for Newburyport farmers markets (early mornings)

● Optional: Friday or Saturday for prep & pack

● Pay rate: $17 / hour

    • Regularly lift 50 pounds

    • Stand on pavement/concrete for long periods of time

    • Comfort or willingness to learn to drive a cabover box truck in year round weather

    • Strong customer service skills

    • Passion for local food and sharing knowledge of storage, presentation and recipes of seasonal vegetables with members and customers

    • Load and unload the box truck in a timely manner for markets and remote site CSA pickups (safely getting up and down from the truck)

    • Valid driver’s license

    • Have good communication skills

    • Are able to repeatedly lift 50+ lbs.

    • Are independently motivated and a team player

    • Have a positive attitude

    • Are detail oriented

    • Have strong organizational skills with an ability to multitask

    • Can manage your time wisely

    • Like to troubleshoot problems and think on your feet

    • Have a working knowledge or willingness to learn about food safety requirements, vegetable quality and grading

    • Have experience working on a farm or in the restaurant industry (always a plus)

  • In this position you will be assisting the CSA team with the weekly needs for CSA pick up and farmers markets, which includes:

    • Preparing and packing food for pick up

    • Driving the 14 ft. box truck to and from our off farm pick up locations and farmers markets in and around the Seacoast and North Shore regions

    • Loading and unloading the truck

    • Setting up tables and produce displays for markets and pick ups

    During the weekly CSA pick ups, you will be responsible for:

    • Checking members in

    • Informing members of their choices and relevant information

    • Answering questions about produce and the farm

    • Interacting with members: many members enjoy sharing their CSA meal plans or creations, so a passion for cooking and creativity in the kitchen is a plus
