Field crew member
Hiring for full and part-time positions with our field crew, with potential for year-round employment. The work involves planting, weeding, harvesting and washing of produce as well as end of season cleanup around the farm.
Important Details:
Pay is $19 an hour (+ you can take home vegetables)
Full time and part time schedules must include one weekend day during the growing season
Workday begins at 7:30am and ends at 4:15pm with a 45 minute unpaid lunch.
The ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly and be on your feet for long stretches of time are required.
Experience is not necessary, but we value people who enjoy being outside, get along well with others and have fun doing it. Our team is passionate about their work and find camaraderie in the shared purpose of tending to our crops and bringing food to our customers. We work in all sorts of weather: hot, cold, rain and sometimes even snow. We take pride in growing great crops and delicious food for our CSA, farm stand, markets and wholesale.
Job Duties Include:
Harvesting a large variety of vegetable and berry crops
Washing/sorting/packing veggies for CSA, wholesale outlets and farmer’s markets
Transplanting on the tractor-mounted water wheel transplanter
Limited hand weeding and hoeing
Occasional greenhouse work including transplanting, watering, moving trays and general maintenance
Qualifications:
Enjoy working outside in the lovely New England weather (oh you know, the sun, the rain, the cold, the heat, the bugs)
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Willingness to learn
Ability to take direction and have excellent attention to detail
Enjoy working at a quick pace and have an interest in improving and learning new skills
Promptness and accountability
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
