Tomato festival

2026 tomato festival

sunday august 16th

1pm-6pm

history of the event

We held the first Tomato Festival many years ago to highlight our beloved heirloom tomatoes that we are extremely dedicating to growing and sharing with our community. After a few years of not hosting a Tomato Fest, we decided to revive this annual event in 2022 after COVID-19 shook up the world. In the wake of the global pandemic, we felt it more necessary than ever to gather with our community to celebrate our connection to the land and people who make this farm possible. The event as it is came to be in 2023 when we decided to include music and art in addition to local vendors and our tradition of tomato tasting to find the fan favorite variety of the year.

charitable Future of the event

Last year in 2025, we decided to make this annual happening a charitable event! We’ve teamed up with the friendly folks at Amesbury Industrial Supply to raise money for three of our favorite local organizations: Our Neighbor’s Table, Love Bus, and the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center. We will be raising money through raffle ticket sales, business sponsorships, donations upon entry, and leading up to the event using the link below. Please help us spread the word!

The Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center seeks to empower individuals and engage local communities to end domestic violence. They provide survivor support services and educational programming to people of all ages and identities.

Lucy’s Love Bus provides free integrative therapies, complementary activities, and support for children with cancer, their caregivers, and families through various program offerings. Many programs operate out in the community but they also provide in-hospital services.

Our Neighbors Table seeks to alleviate food insecurity in the Lower Merrimack Valley by providing reliable, community-based access to food for all residents through pantry markets, community meals, home delivery, and more!

festival faq:

  • So what happens at a Tomato Festival? Live music, tomato tastings, restaurant samples, tomato art, a fabulous raffle, lawn games, our farm store, PYO blueberries, prepared food vendors, and cold beverages!

  • Can I bring my dog? We love dogs and cats but please leave your furry friends at home for this one! Thank you

  • Is this a free event? As a charitable event, we suggest a $10 donation upon entry. There will also be food tickets available for $5 and raffle tickets available for sale $1 each or $10 for 15 tickets. All of these sales will be going directly to the donation fund! Separately, there will be art for sale, cold beverages, and prepared food for sale.

  • What forms of payment do you accept? The donation QR code for some stuff listed above, cash is always king, Venmo to @HeronPond-Farm (Greg Balog) is great , and card payments will be available but may be limited!

  • Where should I park? We have very limited parking, but we have very kind neighbors across the street at the Seventh Day Adventist School that allow us to use their parking lot and driveway. Please use that lot, unless you are truly just stopping at the store or need access to a handicap spot. Look out for the signs and folks directing traffic. Please avoid parking on the roadside in a way that would disrupt a normal traffic pattern on a state route!

How can I get involved in this year’s tomato festival?

This event is all hands on deck for us, as we operate with a small crew and remain open on the day of. Over the last few years we’ve been lucky enough to have friends, family, and amazing volunteers to help to make it happen. Volunteers are critical to the event’s operations and this year we are looking for more folks to help out at Tomato Fest! There are all sorts of volunteer roles to be filled including parking attendant / traffic safety, selling raffle tickets, distributing tomato samples, helping with set up, break down, and more. Click the button below to sign up for a volunteer shift!
